I just want to show you a very well done miniature by a fellow painteholic, Stefan Rath aka Derwish. His Khemri Standart Bearer is a wonderfull display of what is possible and many can only dream about.
If it wouldnt be for Matt Cexwish's Insane Scenary this  would have won the slayersword 2011 in cologne for shure!

Games Day Germany 2011 Review

Hey there painteholics,

After a crazy weekend and some hours of sleep and dealing with daily stuff this is finally the Games Day Germany 2012 Review. And what a weekend it was. Meeting all the great people and meeting some new one. I had some very good conversations during painters dinner with painteholics from spain, england, France etc.

First I was stunned that my stuff got so good reactions but most importantly they showed me what I do wrong or where I need to improve. I now know that I need to focus on Focus. Creating a point in my works where the eye can settle and which draws attention.

I will work on focus and contrast in the next time. Something I never took notice of before. I always tried to improve technique - now I need to learn to let the Miniatures make BAM how Roman would say ;D

So Painters Dinner was great. Special thanks go out to Ben Komets, Georg Damm, Christian Reckerth who looked at each of my entries and showed me where I can improve.

Big thanks go out to the "master of contrast" Christopher Octive aka Monkeyman. We had a longer
conversation and he tried to explain contrast to me. I promise I have not forgotten the 8 types of contrast ;D It was cool to chat with you anyway and maybe I can make it to the UK next year.
I had more good chats with guys from England, Spain, France but it would take longer to thank each and everyone of you so I just say THANKS to all of you :D

Games Day itself was great,too. After a very short night and a couple of coffees we reached the Gürzenich in cologne. So many great miniatures, people from everywhere, cool gaming tables etc. etc. Especially the short meeting with my Tyranid brothers Simon Schnitzler aka Hydra, Marco Schulze aka Moloch and Harald Moosmann aka Nautilus was very nice. Keep of gribbling, the Sky Mother Protects!

I also met Malekith and The Artfist in person for the first time and had good chats with both of them. Maybe we see eaach other on some other events in the future ;D Of course we stay connected in times like facebook :D

Enough talking I think I will let pictures do the talking from now on.

Negative One

Back in the Cradle!

Hey there painteholics,

I just returned from a crazy weekend with lots of inspiration and nearly no sleep. I am just writing some lines before I will go to sleep. Congrats to Matt for winning his sword - you deserve it! And what a unique way of receiving it....more on this one later ;D

But I did quit okay,too. Five Entries, 4 Final Cut Pins and One Silver Deamon in Duell Category ;P
And the best thing about all of this is that I had some pretty good conversations over the weekend. I now know what is missing in all my miniatures. And from now on I will focus on focus ;D

So many things to write about, so many people to thank and so little sleep....
I will post a big review in the next days but for now this has to be enough :D

Games Day Germany 'ere We Go!

Yoooooo Painteholics,

I am ready to take of to Games day Germany in Cologne. In a few hours I will meet with some other guys from my area to head to cologne together. A great weekend with inspirational input, great people, awesome miniatures and lots of fun ( and beer) ahead of us.

I already saw some sneak peek pictures of a few french entries from Julien Casses over on his blog http://www.juliencasses.com/category/blog/ ( Credits go out to Bestienmeister for posting ;P ) and I have to say its gonna be hard to deal with that kind of competition. I definitively need to bring my "Handetasche" with me this year ;P
Because you know like Bruce Darnell says: " No Handetasche - No Competition!"

But we will see if history repeats itself and I can enter the stage with some gold in hand ;P
Time is running out and I will finish this post with a motivational picture for myself from last years GD. Me being the guy completely to the left with a pretty strange hairstyle next to Mister Dr. Georg Damm ;P

I will be back sunday evening maybe monday here on the blog with a big post about Games Day. How I did, what great Minis were there and much more. So see you next week ;D

Hey there folks,

I found Some more Warhammer Forge stuff in the depths of the web...Well actually thanks to Bestienmeisters Blog ;P Here are some pretty unclear pics shot at GD Chicago. But to be honest - blurry pictures are better than high res because it keeps us wondering ;D

Right now I am packing my stuff to head to cologne tomorrow. All Golden Demon Entries are packed and ready to go. Cant wait to meet all the people I only see once a year ;P

One Down, One Left

I finished my biggest Games Day Entry moments ago. Still top secret but I have to say its the biggest project I worked on since I am in the hobby.

No its only one entry left. I honestly dont know if I can get this one finished since there is still a ton of work and there is just a little bit more than a week left.

But something magical happened yesterday. I was working on some metallics as it seemed that my Vallejo Silver Air was empty. I pushed a little bit harder an BAM - silver all over the place.

Then 3 very strange seconds followed. In the first I looked around, realizing what just hit me, in the second I realized that my Imac was cover with sic silver paint, in the first second I went berzerk with a towel to get my imac and the surroundings clean.

After 15 minutes of intensive cleaning I was done and I found the time to make some photos - was it fate that I wore my MassiveVoodoo shirt that day? I thought hmm some paint sprinkles on it doesnt look that wrong. But I knew they wouldnt stay there in the cleaner.

But still pretty cool pictures dont you think:

Today's Work on Games Day Entries

Hey there Painteholics,

My crusade against time continues as I took on Flesh and Leather parts today. Flesh, Flesh, Flesh, Shadow, Highlights, Shadow, Highlights etc etc. But as I am into Oil colours these days (thanks to Roman goes over to massive voodoo) its one hell of a party. Completely new invironment but nice to learn and experience something new.

Now I will end the Day with some BBQ with friends and some good industrial music at the local goth party. ;D ( You dont have to be one to love this music :P )

Extreme Painting Day

Yo Hey Painteholics,

I just finished on painting for today. After almost 9 hours of painting I finished another Golden Demon Entry for this year. Duell Category done, puh. Only 2 big projects left and some sitework to do. After all it was a beautiful day. Sun, Rain, Wind it had everything.

I also found time to take some inspirational pictures. I went out for a walk after a long painting session and enjoyed the day with all its facets.

A man who's saying the Truth!

Hey guys,

I know this is a painting and miniature related blog. But who knows me closer is aware of the fact that I am a huge pro wrestling fan. And even if this site has nothing to do with wrestling I have to post this video sine its one of the most important things which happened in wrestling for years! And this video needs to spread since the right people need to see this.

If this is a planned storyline: The best idea of wwe for years. After years of boring wrestling and PG politics this might just be the turning point.
If this was a shoot and CM Punk had the creative control over his speech he just proved balls of steel because he says exactly what most Wrestling Fans think for years now:

WWE needs to change, get away from all this PG stuff, bringing interesting storylines, innovative promos and stories people can attach emotionally to. And not the same "I beat you so I beat you up" crap. Its the first time in years I am sitting at home, having the hairs in my neck dizzling watching a WWE show and I cant wait for next weeks Raw or the comming weeks.
And its not important if it was scripted or real because the one thing happened I thought which will never ever occour again: I was entertained by WWE program again. I cant wait to see the next PPV when Punk will face Cena. (If he isnt fired). So we, the (non PG) wrestling fans should sit back and enjoy the moment because this man did this just for us!

WWE Officials stated that CM Punk was suspended and if this was a shoot I am shure he will get fired for what he said. But hell...the Internet is buzzing and if this is the end of CM Punk in WWE : Welcome to Ring if Honor or TNA again.

Dark Eldar Razorwing Jetfighter

Hey there Painteholics,

Another project was finished yesterday and is up on CMON for you to vote. I am speaking about the new Dark Eldar Razorwing Jetfighter! What an awesome model and pleasure to paint. As soon as I saw the Release Pics I knew that I need to paint one of those. And after my Eldar Tank weathering experiments I wanted to try this technique on another model. And here are the results:
